Differential and integrated cross sections for He + -He collisions at low energies are computed quantum mechanically and compared with observed differential cross sections and predissociation data for He 2 + . The mobility of He + ions in He is calculated for temperatures of 77K and 294K. The results agree within 1.5% with the measurements of Helm. The equilibrium dissociation energy of He 2 + is estimated to be 2.48 eV.
