This communication amplifies a recent publication and shows that the fluid model is not adequate to give the full detail of the plasma-sheath structure for an electronegative plasma in the parameter range where stratification develops with two distinct plasmas separated by a potential barrier. A generalization of the Tonks-Langmuir model does not suffer the same deficiencies.
