The crystalline complexes of poly (oxyethylene) derivatives (HO(CH2CH2O)nH, n=2–7; CH3O(CH2CH2O)4CH3) with lanthanoid nitrates were prepared. The well-defined complexes have the composition of ligand:metal =1:1 or 1:2. The stability of the complex seems to decrease with increasing atomic number of the lanthanoid.
