The coordination polymeric cation of [Cu6(trans-oxen)3(μ3-OH)2(H2O)2]nBr4n·3nH2O exhibits a two-dimensional sheetlike framework with rugged hexagonal grids of copper(II) ions bridged by alternating trans-oxamidate and μ3-OH- groups producing antiferromagnetic interactions. The polymeric cation, anions Br-, and H2O molecules coordinated and solvated are connected to one another via a variety of H-bonded linkages to produce a three-dimensional extended network.
