Using a rate equation for exciton diffusion, with a new theory for the probability per second of exciton capture by impurity traps, the time dependence of the luminescent emission from a doped organic solid for both impurity and host is calculated. The satisfactory agreement of this theory with recent measurements indicates that exclusion of diffusion as the major means of excitation energy transfer is premature.
