The X-ray luminescence of the YAG:Nd crystals in the visible and UV range of the spectrum is studied. The position of the 2F25/2 level is determined to 37810 cm−1. The observed spectrum is ascribed to the transition from the afore-mentioned level to the SLJ states of the Nd3+ ions in YAG.
