X-Ray crystal study of [12]aneN3-ZnII(NCS)2 has revealed a 5-coordinate, trigonal bipyramidal structure with an equatorial ZnII-NCS− bond closer and linear, and an apical ZnII-NCS− bond longer and bent, and the new configuration of [12]aneN3, which is reversed from those known for 4-coordinate, tetrahedral ZnII complexes.
