The Josephson junction seems to be an ideal model system for chaos investigations. This paper emphasizes experiments on real junctions, and reviews the different types that have been done. It is concluded that because of the influence of thermal noise, the interpretation of experiments is very diffcult. The interplay between thermal and chaotic noise is a very intriguing research area both for theorists and experimentalists.
