Case study demonstrates the integration of antiracist and decolonial pedagogy in global online archaeology courses, highlighting pathways for reparative STEM education.
Drawing from a collaborative teaching and design partnership, the authors present Knowing the Past , a four-course online specialization on the Coursera platform designed to introduce archaeology through an antiracist lens. By integrating decolonial content and antiracist teaching practices in an online open global learning environment, the case study offers a model for how universities can take concrete, reparative steps through what and how they teach. The example also integrates antiracist theory into course design, through carefully chosen content and structured activities. This teaching approach illustrates how instructional design can extend STEM educational reckoning into global learning spaces when approached as a form of ethical praxis.
