Relaxation times of DF in Ar near 1000 °K and of DF in He between 1000 and 2600 °K have been obtained in a shock tube experiment and the results have been compared with other results and calculations. It is concluded that both rotation and translation must be included in a proper description of the relaxation process. (AIP)
