We show how a multiple-peaked far-zone degree of spectral coherence can be produced by illuminating a beam-splitter with a quasi-homogeneous source or by burying a beam-splitter in a diffusing medium. We identify a class of beam-splitters for which the far-zone degree of spectral coherence is multiple-peaked even in the limit of fully incoherent illumination. This effect may allow for a new type of information coding.
