The system of two partial differential equations describing, on the basis of a cold plasma model, the propagation of low-frequency waves in an axisymmetric, current-carrying torus is shown to be singular in a two-dimensional domain of the independent variables. Regularized by means of a causal damping the singular domain becomes a resonantly absorbing domain.
