We present a study of the effects of interatomic multiatom resonant photoemission monitored by soft x-ray emission. The partial fluorescence yield of certain transitions FKα and CKα is measured while the excitation energy is scanned through the higher lying thresholds (LaM4.5 and TiL2,3, respectively) of the neighboring atoms in the multicomponent systems (LaF₃,TiₓNb_1-xC). No evidence for a resonant enhancement in the fluorescence signal as suggested by the multiatom resonant photoemission effect is found.
