The role of generative artificial intelligence (gen AI) in health care systems is a developing practice. As the technology advances, additional uses are being tested, and the availability of gen AI creates opportunities in broadening contexts. This exploratory study examines the accuracy of gen AI in mental health diagnosis through application of the technology to case studies. Analysis of results highlights challenges in the use of gen AI for clinicians in practice.
