The Ce 4 d -core X-ray absorption spectrum (4 d XAS) of the mixed valent ferromagnet CeRh 3 B 2 is calculated based on the impurity Anderson model incorporated with electron-electron (or core hole) interactions described by the Slater integrals. The ferromagnetic ordering is taken into account by the molecular field acting on the 4 f electron of the impurity atom. The difference in the 4 d XAS between the right-hand and left-hand circularly polarized incident photons is predicted to be very remarkable, even for the magnetization of ∼1 µ B per Ce atom.
