The heat capacity of high-purity alpha uranium has been determined from 1.7 to 23^∘{}K and smoothed into previous data at 25^∘{}K. These heat capacities are significantly lower than the values reported by other investigators. The values for γ, the coefficient of the electronic contribution to heat capacity, and for the Debye Θ at 0^∘{}K, were determined to be 9.88±{}0.05 mJ deg^-2 (gat.)^-1 and 222±{}2^∘{}K, respectively. The Cₚ-Cᵥ correction was evaluated between 15 and 80^∘{}K to show the effect of the anomalous expansive and compressive behavior of uranium between 20 and 45^∘{}K on the lattice heat capacity. Tabular values of Cₚ, Cᵥ, Θ, and other thermodynamic quantities are presented up to 25^∘{}K.
