Data on the kinetics and thermodynamics of absorption of potassium ethyl xanthogenate onto polyester fibres at different temperatures are presented. It is established that the increase in temperature of the system increases the uptake of ethyl xanthogenate ions by the fibres. Adsorption equilibria, specific rate constants, diffusion coefficients, activation energy and enthalpy of reaction were determined. From the results the conclusion can be derived that the adsorption of ethyl xanthogenate ions on the polyester fibre in the investigated temperature interval takes place with establishment of strong chemical bonds.
