The objective of the present experiment was to evaluate potential toxicological effects of hydrocolloids of silver and alloys of silver/copper and silver/palladium nanoparticles, administrated to chicken embryo. Hydrocolloids (0.3 ml), containing 50 ppm of nanoparticles, were injected in ovo prior to incubation of eggs. The embryo development was investigated at two stages: 48 h (stage 12–13) and 20 days (stage 45). There was no negative effect of nanoparticles on embryos’ survival, growth and development and morphology. The hydrocolloids did not affect activity of enzymes (asparagines transferase, alanine transferase and alkaline phosphatase), concentrations of glucose, triacylglyceride and cholesterol in blood serum and also genotoxicity measured as a concentration of 8-oxo-2deoxyguanosine in the liver DNA.
