Fractions of the dried leaves of Licania pyrifolia containing triterpenes were investigated, and four new compounds ( 1−4 ) were isolated. Their structures were established after detailed NMR spectral studies as 11α-hydroxybetulinic acid, 6β-hydroxybetulinic acid, 2α,3β-dihydroxyup-12-en-28-oic acid 3-(3‘,4‘-dihydroxybenzoyl ester), and 2α,3β,27-trihydroxylup-12-en-28-oic acid 3-(3‘,4‘-dihydroxybenzoyl ester), respectively.
