A method is presented for clarifying sonic lysates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This is achieved by treating the lysate with ammonium sulfate to 70 per cent saturation, and then dialyzing the entire preparation. This treatment causes flocculation of lipid and other debris, and facilitates clarification and filter sterilization of the remaining solution of macromolecular constituents.
