A detailed description is presented of the conversion of the racemic pregnene lactone I into d,l‐aldosterone (XXVIII). In addition a physico‐chemical procedure for the optical resolution of the intermediate acid VI is given, leading to the preparation of the ketol d‐XV, which was transformed earlier into d‐aldosterone(28).
