Accad et al (1971) have calculated the positions of the levels 2 3 P 1 and 3 3 P 1 in helium-like ions, neglecting matrix elements connecting n 3 P 1 and n 1 P 1 states. It is shown that inclusion of these matrix elements gives a considerable improvement in the theoretical fine structure intervals.
