A line was observed in the Li II spectrum at 8517.1 plus or minus 1.5 A which was identified with the transition 1s2p/sup 1/P/sub 1/-1s2S /sup 1/SO. The line at 8517A appeared only when other lines of the Li II spectrum were present. (A. C.)
