King's, Phillips' and Hagan's intensity measurements on the strong bands of the C 2 Swan system have been re-interpreted. It was found that variation of electronic transition moment with internuclear separation is given by R e ( r ) = -0 150 (1-5.07 r ) A.U.; 1.10 Å < r < 1.50 Å. A table of smoothed absolute band strength, oscillator strengths and Einstein A coefficients is given.
