The energy and angular distribution of pairs of fragment protons produced in H + -H 2 collisions has been investigated in the energy range 5-30 keV. It is shown that the energy distribution is a simple transformation of the ground-state wavefunction of H 2 and an experimental determination of the ground-state probability density distribution is presented. Total and differential double ionisation cross sections are found to be in accord with earlier measurements.
