Energy dependent as well as energy independent polarization potentials along with the most accurate single center wavefunction of Hayes are employed to calculate the average differential cross sections and the total cross sections for the elastic scattering of electrons by molecular hydrogen in the plane wave approximation for incident energies E=100–2000 eV. The agreement with recent experimental result is good throughout the energy range.
