The results of a numerical simulation of the interaction between a hydraulic fracture propagating under plane-strain conditions in an infinite impermeable elastic medium and an already existing natural fault are presented. The fracture is created by an incompressible Newtonian fluid injected at a constant flow rate from a source located at its center; the behavior of the fault is described by a dry friction model of the Mohr-Coulomb type. The results obtained are in agreement with the available studies in this field of research.
