Theoretical framework demonstrates how topological prompt engineering warps latent fields in artificial intelligence, suggesting a mechanism for creative and coherent outputs.
Prompt engineering seen as a topological operation creates restraint matrices through the weighting of data so that associations that might be seen as distant on a plane are nearby on a warped field. Emergence, seen not as consciousness, but rather coherence and creativity across a prompt field becomes possible as a result. Prompt engineering acts as a field interaction between two asymmetric loci of meaning: the engineer seeking creative outputs and the computer or AI as a locus of a data field of human knowledge. The engineer directs the creativity as the human in the loop shaping the data restraints within which the computer outputs, for instance, a paper as research assistant. If fields and prompts are properly weighted, then outputs are steered into new directions and avoid cliches. I could not get my open source computer to reliably transform the LaTex equations here, but felt they could be read past in the interests of publishing the information.
