Philosophical analysis proposes a priority polytheism framework for Modern Druidry, demonstrating how distinct deities coexist with an ultimate divinity.
This paper will focus on conceptions of the divine in Modern Druidry. While acknowledging the diversity among Druids in their beliefs about the divine, this paper will have a particular focus on forms of polytheism that include belief in some form of ultimate divinity in addition to the pantheon of gods and goddesses. I will propose a way of understanding how such views can work through engagement with the priority monist view in metaphysics, using this view to construct a version of polytheism called priority polytheism. Following this, I will anticipate and respond to some objections to priority polytheism. Through this, this paper will show how engagement with Druidry in contemporary philosophy of religion can yield fruitful results.
