Health policy analysis highlights high rates of depression and anxiety in informal carers, suggesting centralized digital delivery is essential to scale psychological support across health systems.
Global dementia strategies recognise informal carers' mental health and wellbeing as integral to care.1 Yet the challenge extends beyond dementia. Across caregiving populations, one in three carers experience depression, a similar proportion anxiety, and nearly one in two substantial burden.2 The question is how care systems can translate carers’ recognised high risk into routine access to evidence-based psychological support at scale. Across income settings, sustaining specialised expertise, intervention infrastructure, and clinical governance required in every local service nationwide is unlikely feasible, requiring alternative delivery architectures.
