A rate equation for quasiparticles (electron‐hole pairs, excitons) including stimulated optical transitions is solved at simplifying assumptions. The density of quasiparticles at high excitations in direct gap semiconductors with insignificant Auger recombination and without any resonator is shown to be limited by a root function of generation rate with the exponent depending on the dimension of the excited region.
