The study of modulated structures, mixed layer polytypes and 1-D quasi-crystals by means of electron microscopy and electron diffraction

The characteristic features of electron diffraction patterns due to modulated structures of various types are discussed and observations illustrating the various types of patterns are presented. The use of imaging techniques is illustrated as well.
