When annealed and successively quenched, the CsBr:Pb 2+ shows peculiar absorption spectrum similar to that of CsI:Tl + . The type of defect responsible for the spectrum was investigated by measurements of dielectric loss and ionic thermocurrent. It seems that the defect is impurity-cation vacancy dipole.
