Bronchogenic carcinoma is an unusual and poorly treated disease in children and adults younger than age 30. The fortieth reported case of bronchogenic carcinoma in this age group—and the sixth with squamous-cell histology—is described. The role of hypercalcemia in the patient's course and evidence suggesting the role of prostaglandins in the pathogenesis of this complication are discussed.
