A condensation model for forced and natural convection is derived by extending the Reynolds-Colburn analogy for heat and momentum transfer to mass and momentum transfer. The model is compared to the steady-state data of Uchida and Tagami and found to be in reasonable agreement with the forced convection data when an imposed velocity of 2 m/s is assumed. The natural convection model has the same functional dependence on Grashof number (htot ∼ Gr−0.37) as the data of Akers.
