The renal excretion of labeled indomethacin (indomethacin‐2‐C14) was measured in human volunteers with and without the concurrent administration of probenecid. Acute clearance studies provided evidence of tubular secretion of indomethacin. Less of the drug was excreted when probenecid was given. It is postulated that indomethacin is secreted by the same probenecid‐sensitive tubular mechanism as penicillin and other organic acids.
