A novel poly(urethane-amide) (PUA) was designed using poly(ethylene adipate)tolylene2,4-diisocyanate, piperazine and polyol. Diglycidyl 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylate (DGCHD) and 4,4′-ethylenedianiline were used for blend formation. An original approach was adopted for the formation of organic nanoparticle (ONP) using resorcinol. Physical interlinking of PUA and ONP caused decrease in molecular weight of PUA. FESEM micrographs revealed the formation of unique self-assembled interpenetrating polymer network due to fine compatibility between blend component and ONP. Increase of 61 and 64% was observed in tensile strength and Young’s modulus of DGCHD/PUA 10, respectively. Shape recovery of 98% was obtained for 10 wt-% ONP loaded DGCHD/PUA hybrid.
