Analytical expressions for anisotropic components of the scattered intensity for the helical wormlike chain, including the ordinary wormlike chain as a special case, near the rod limit are derived by an application of the so-called ε method of Part VI to the general equations of Part IX. Evaluation is carried out of the polarized (Vv), depolarized (Hv), and horizontal–horizontal (Hh) components. Because of their complexity, the derived equations cannot be used for the determination of the mean-square radius of gyration. However, the numerical analysis shows that this quantity for very stiff polymers (not rigid rods) may be determined by analyzing experimental data for the Vv component by the use of the simple equation for rods.
