Measurements are reported for line-intensity ratios emitted from heliumlike B iv ions in a plasma with Nₑ=1.5×{}10¹⁶ cm^-3 and kTₑ=175 eV. The plasma was produced in a theta-pinch discharge. The analysis supports theoretical excitation rates calculated in the distorted-wave approximation, which include the effect of resonances.
