Inhibition in rodent cells was substantially reversed within 24 hours of monoester removal, whereas communication was completely uninhibited in hamster, monkey, and human hepatocytes at all tested concentrations.
Peroxisomal beta-oxidation was elevated by select monoesters in rat and mouse hepatocytes but showed no marked changes in hepatocytes from hamsters, monkeys, or humans.
