SUMMARY A list of nine Decapods collected from the Sar Uanle beach includes five species described for the first time in Somalia. The distribution, zonation, activity rhythms, biological cycle and feeding activity of Ocypode crabs at Sar Uanle are compared with notes existing in the literature. The predation and competition to which Ocypode and Coenobita are subject on the Sar Uanle beach are discussed and the main food-chain relationship indicated for these two decapods.
