A new type of experiment is described in this paper. It is proposed that optical activity parameters of opaque substances be investigated in reflection rather than in transmission. The current status of optical activity experiments is reviewed briefly to delineate the circumstances in which the new experiment is useful. Theoretical results necessary for the design and interpretation of experiments are reported and discussed.
