Two new "Y organs" were recently described in the antennary segment of the crab Varuna and the crayfish Orconectes. These structures, for which we propose the terms "organ of Madhyastha" and "organ of Carlisle," respectively, are incompatible with the Y organ descriptions of Gabe and are not homologous to the Y organ of the crab Carcinus. Therefore, they cannot justifiably be called Y organs.
