Superconductivity has been observed in a second quasi-one-dimensional organic conductor : (TMTSF)2AsF6, at a temperature of 1.1 K under 12 kbar. The establishment of the superconducting state is apparently not related to the existence of a soft external phonon mode at 2 k F, since under atmospheric pressure X-ray diffuse scattering fails to detect any Kohn anomaly at low temperature.
