One drug may markedly influence the pharmacologic response to another in man. A variety of factors have been implicated in such drug interactions. The effective and safe use of potent drugs in man depends upon a thorough knowledge of their own actions and interactions with other drugs. The physician must also be alert to the possibility of drug interactions not yet described and must exercise caution in the addition or deletion of any drug from a therapeutic regimen.
