The vapor-liquid equilibria of solutions of benzene and 2,2,4-trimethylpentane have been measured at 10 deg intervals from 35 to 75° over the entire range of composition. The excess thermodynamic functions have been calculated from these data for the processes of mixing at constant pressure and at constant volume. All these functions are positive over the whole range of composition and decrease with increase of temperature. The behavior of this system is in qualitative agreement with the predictions of theory.
