Three modes: An iminoferrocenylphosphane ligand stabilizes low-coordinate and low-valent nickel in [{[η-C5H4CHN(C6H5)]Fe[η-C5H4P(tBu)2]-N,P}NiICl] (see figure) and similar complexes. The coordination environment is hemilabile as exemplified by three different coordination modes: P,N(σ)-chelate, P,CN(π)-chelate, and P unidentate. These complexes are catalytically active towards ethylene oligomerization.
