In the age of the scientific and technological revolution, the role of labor as a factor in esthetic education steadily grows in developed socialist society. This is because the nature of productive labor is being radically altered while socialism is being transformed into communism, and various esthetic values are being augmented in this enterprise. Yet the actual place of labor in the esthetic education system has not been revealed with sufficient comprehensiveness and conviction. Some authors consider labor a decisive factor in esthetic education (D. A. Ryzhuk), while others assign art the basic role: "… A decisive role in instilling progressive esthetic ideals in people belongs to art" (O. V. Larmin, Esthetic Education in the Period of Developed Socialism [Esteticheskoe vospitanie v period razvitogo sotsializma]. Moscow, 1976, p. 44).
