Background : Some patients experience inadequate voice improvement after laryngeal framework surgery for unilateral vocal-fold paralysis. The outcomes of patients who underwent intracordal trafermin injections to improve their voice remain unclear. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 18 patients diagnosed with unilateral vocal fold paralysis who underwent laryngeal framework surgery and intracordal trafermin injections at our hospital between January 2015 and December 2024 because of insufficient voice improvement. The maximum phonation time, pitch range, mean flow rate, Voice Handicap Index, and preoperative and postoperative changes in these parameters were evaluated. Results : There were no significant differences in the maximum phonation time, pitch range, mean flow rate, or Voice Handicap Index. Conclusion : For further voice improvement after laryngeal framework surgery, treatment strategies using materials such as hyaluronic acid and hydroxyapatite may be more suitable than trafermin. Based on these results, an optimal treatment strategy for patients should be determined.
