Copper nanocrystals characterized by various sizes and shapes are synthesized in reverse micelles. The average size of the metallic nanocrystals increases from 3 to 8.4 nm. Experimental (UV spectroscopy) and theoretical (TDLDA formalism) optical studies permit to correlate the optical response to size and shape effects of the nanocrystals.
